CATTLE FEEDERS PREPARE FOR TCFA ANNUAL CONVENTION IN
GRAPEVINE
Cattle feeders from throughout cattle feeding country of
Texas
,
Oklahoma
and
New Mexico
, and beyond, are getting ready for the 2005 Annual Convention of the
Texas Cattle Feeders Association. The
convention will be Oct. 16-18 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention
Center in Grapevine.
A strong group of topics awaits cattle feeders.
TCFA Chairman Charlie Sellers will recap what has been an eventful
year for the cattle business. NCBA
President and
Texas
cattleman Jim McAdams will share his thoughts from the national level and
Ag Secretary Mike Johanns has been invited to discuss issues from
Washington
.
Breakout sessions include Chef Richard Chamberlain, with
Chamberlain's Steak and Chop House in
Dallas
, who will show his creative side in "New Innovations in Lean Beef."
A panel of cattlemen will discuss "Beef Labeling-What's Next
for Cattle Feeders."
Cattle Feeders will round out the convention with a look at
"Agriculture in the Crosshairs-Keeping Cattlemen and Consumers
safe," with Dr. John Hoffman with the Department of Homeland Security. Randy
Blach, Cattle-Fax executive vice president, will end the session with a
look at what's next in the cattle market.
However, cattle feeders won't spend all their time in educational
sessions. The TCFA Beef-PAC
Auction offers a wide array of items for that hard-to-buy-for person and t
he Cattle Feeders Get Together, long a popular part of the TCFA
Convention, offers a chance to catch up with friends.
In addition, Dallas Cowboys football, a Texas Hold "Em poker
tournament, a golf tournament and sporting clays shoot offer plenty of
chances for cattle feeders to enjoy their trip to Lake Grapevine.
